A three-piece set in marbled ivory, cream and caramel: a necklace of carved beads in melon, pinwheel, bamboo and nugget shapes ending in a swirled petal pendant, matching teardrop earrings, and a stretch bracelet with a carved starfish dangle. The mixed shapes give it the feel of a collection gathered over years. Necklace is approximately 45cm with a clasp.
The story behind this piece
My studio windowsill is lined with sun-bleached finds — coral gone ivory, old conch pieces worn to caramel swirls, shapes no two alike. I carved and gathered these cream beads to match that windowsill, melon and pinwheel and bamboo shapes jumbled the way the sea jumbles things, with a little starfish riding the bracelet.
