A bold stretch bracelet of chunky painted wood beads in terracotta orange, olive green and pale cream. Cubes, cylinders and rounds mix shapes for an earthy, sculptural look. Light on the wrist despite its size, it slips on with no clasp.
The story behind this piece
The dories at West End used to be painted in exactly these colors — terracotta hulls, olive trim, cream gunwales gone soft from salt. I'd sit on the pier and watch the fishermen scrape and repaint them every dry season. These chunky wood beads are my way of keeping those old boats close.
