Mauve and white glass pearls alternating around the wrist, dotted with tiny gold daisy spacers and one openwork silver wire-cage bead near the clasp. The little cage bead is the surprise you notice second. Delicate but everyday-tough.
The story behind this piece
Sea fans are the reef's lacework — a purple mesh that holds the current the way a net holds nothing and everything. The little openwork wire bead by the clasp is my sea fan, and the mauve and white pearls are the water swaying through it. I always put the delicate thing where only the wearer knows it's there.
