Round wenge-style wood beads strung into a warm brown strand, each bead showing its own concentric grain rings. Light for its size and matte against the skin. Wears beautifully with linen and white cotton.
The story behind this piece
The carvers who set up near the cruise-ship dock used to let me watch them turn dark island wood, and I loved how every bead came off showing its rings — years of rain and sun you could count with your thumb. This strand is my nod to them. It smells faintly of the workshop if you hold it close.
